{design team announcement]

I have been busting for weeks now to announce two new Design Team Members to the Scrappingcleary Team and today is the day!

Welcome aboard to two very very talented and creative ladies
Kathryn Morrow and Lorrie Nunemaker.

Hello! My name is Kathryn Morrow and I currently live in Arlington, Texas.  I have been married to a wonderful man, Quintin, for 22 years and have two lovely children:  Mikaelah, 17 and Brendan, 14.
I have always enjoyed being creative and have been involved in everything from jewelry designing to quilting to mixed media art and finally scrapbooking.  My first “creative” dream that came true was being published several times in the magazine Somerset Studio back in the late 1990s, early 2000s.  I was completely humbled (and panicked!) when I was asked to be one of five artist’s world-wide to participate in a “With One Stamp” challenge for the November/December 2000 issue.  It was a special time in my life.
My creative life changed abruptly when my second child was born in 1999.  He had most of his right lung removed when he was 6 months old, followed by years of severe illnesses.   I homeschooled my daughter until she was in third grade.  Needless to say, anything creative consisted of gluing macaroni noodles onto construction paper!
Fast forward ten years when a friend encouraged me to get back into scrapbooking.  So much had changed in the paper arts world, it was as if I had never scrapbooked before that time!  We would get together several times a week and it was the most refreshing, freeing and rewarding time.  I also took lots of classes including ones from such talented teachers like Heidi Swapp and Nic Howard.
I love to be busy so these are just a few things that have kept me moving and grooving this year:  I have a small space at a local boutique in Arlington; I have homeschooled my 17 year old daughter this year, substituted at my son’s private school and helped care for my best friend’s young children two times a week, all while consistently spending time in my studio, creating all kinds of works.
I continue to have my faith strengthened and my creative horizons elevated by the wonders of love and life, and by seeing God’s hands at work in the world around us.

I love all things paper.  I always have.  I can remember when I was a young child, while my friends would want to play house, with dolls, etc., I wanted to play “office”.  I had papers stacked, tons of pens and I hoarded envelopes, receipts and such my mother would throw in the trash.  As an adult, my love of paper continues (although I’m no longer digging through the trash for envelopes – well, unless they are really fun envelopes)!

I started scrapping several years ago after a friend sent me a handmade birthday card.  I thought it was the coolest thing EVER!  I immediately became obsessed with scrapbooking, which led to cardmaking, to mini-albums, and the list goes on from there.  As a compliment to paper crafting, I also enjoy photography and working with digital elements in Photoshop.  Often I combine paper crafting with digital crafting to create hybrid projects.  I had the privilege to be a part of the Jessica Sprague Digital Scrapbooking  Design Team for two years, and was an instructor for her Project Plaza Series specializing in hybrid crafts. I’m also a certified digital designer.

I’m so excited to be a part of Scrapping Clearly ‘s design team!
